ABOUT
Founded in 2015, the Silicon Valley Vipers is a competitive, inclusive quadball club founded on the pillars of sportsmanship, community, and fun. We practice with our B team, Silicon Valley Venom, and our practices are free and open to everyone.

ORIGIN STORY
MEET THE FOUNDERS
The founders met on Mission Blues Quidditch team and realized they wanted to give the Bay Area another competitive quidditch team. They came from a variety of sports but quickly realized that quadball was the best.
Left-to-right: Sam (tennis), Mostafa (soccer), Chris (rugby), Chiara (soccer), Jenna (soccer), Laura (ultimate), Maryna (volleyball).
They aimed to form a quadball team built upon competitiveness, commitment, and sportsmanship.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE TEAM
ALMOST TEN YEARS OF VIPERS
May 2015
Vipers are formed
The Silicon Valley Vipers started in 2015 by a small group of dedicated quidditch players who valued competition and sportsmanship. Although most of them had played less than a year, they managed to recruit a full team of rookies that would rank top 8 in the West and qualify for the US Cup their first year.

January 2016
NCQC 3 victory
Vipers win their first tournament, going undefeated at NCQC 3.
August 2018
Venom is formed
Vipers’ B team Silicon Valley Venom is focused on developing players of all skill sets and backgrounds to rise to play at the elite club level.

February 2019
Surprise bronze
After an underwhelming regular season, Vipers surprise all by tying for 3rd place at Western Regionals with a 5-3 record that included a double overtime win against the 2nd place team.
April 2019
Duck Duck Goose
The Vipers and the Fighting Farmers play a game of Duck Duck Goose during a stoppage of play at their US Cup match, igniting a massive meme storm that continues to this day.

Summer 2021
Hot quidditch summer
During a massive recruiting push after the Covid-19 hiatus, the Vipers teach over 100 people quidditch over the summer.
April 2022
Elite status
Vipers make it out of pool play at US Cup and rank top 16 in the country for the first time in team history.

April 2024
Vipers’ 5th US Cup
Vipers compete in the elite division in Round Rock, Texas, with 20 athletes on their roster. Venom competes in the open division for the 2nd time.

VIPERS IN THE WILD
OFF THE PITCH

"This last year, [I] had the opportunity to captain and that, I think, was exciting, because it allowed me to grow in my leadership skills. And I think there’s still areas and room for me to grow, but it's nice to have a space that has trusted me enough to believe in me and my leadership."
—Brandon Williams, #15
